Bronco Direct Drive Blast Wheels PDF Print E-mail

Industrial Associates and Bronco pioneered the direct drive wheel concept. We designed the first 24" diameter 1800RPM wheel in the late 1970's and then standardized on a 15" or 16" diameter 3600RPM direct drive concept in the 1980's. Wheels available up to 75HP.
We went that direction because velocity means faster cleaning than abrasive flow rate. Our wheels are the most powerful built to date and clean twice as fast as 24" – 1800RPM designs, 19-1/2 belt driven designs of the past, or 12" 3600 RPM direct drives.

Cleaning Power

300-325 ft. per second translates into the shortest cleaning cycles or fastest line speeds.

Easy Maintenance
Wheel boxes are 1/2" manganese steel, with access plates so a wheel and hub may be changed in less than 2 hours. Other designs require complete disassembly of liners and more than one shift to complete.
Wheel boxes are lined with manganese or heavy, cast interlocking armor plate liners. Wheels are 8 bladed with dovetail slot for blades. No blade blocks, retention springs or pins required.

  • Blast Wheel- Light weight (20 lb. vs. 30 lb. for wheel with blade blocks), one sided wheel – 15" or 16" diameter with dead end dovetail slot for blade retention. No springs, blade blocks, etc. This eliminates maintenance and critical weight that affects motor bearing life, plus eliminates potential vibration problems. Blades are bi-directional, effective in either rotation.
  • Motor Attachment- Energy efficient Baldor C. faced motors bolt directly into a recessed flange ring on housings. This assures absolute centering and alignment of wheel parts upon re-assembly, as opposed to foot mount designs that are difficult to align. Eliminates foot mount problems of breakaway mounting failures.

Compact
Easy to retro-fit to existing machines to improve productivity. All wheels are bi-directional.
